Ncc and polytechnic visit

National Cadets Corp(Ncc) of First Toa Payoh Secondary School(ftpss) will close down in a year's time. It's a very saddening news to all Ncc members.
Look at how united Ncc was!:(

I have been serving Ncc as my Co curricular Activity(cca) since 2006 when i first joined the school as a student.During my first two years in Ncc,it was a hell of a training. We also had more Ncc officers back then. Corporal punishments were used too. The number of cadets started to decline as some could not take the pressure of corporal punishments.Hence Ncc head quarters banded corporal punishments in 2008.

We had more cadets recruited in 2009 but still they could not handle our normal trainings so the numbers fall again. The following year, the students joining ftpss declined so did the number of people of joining Ncc.Our performance also dropped. When 2010 was coming to end, rumors spread saying Ncc is being phased out.

2011 started,we had our assembly program held in the school hall. Our head of department of cca mentioned we are really being phased out.The rumors were true after all. All members of Ncc had a black face after hearing the news. All the efforts that has been put into Ncc has gone down the drain. I am really grateful to Ncc as I have matured a lot ever since i joined back then.
I have went to many camps and overseas trips. Ncc also have many achievements too.
Thanks to Ncc,I have also a got a high cca band which will be accounted in my national exams certificate which will help me in the future.Ncc just have to run the company with whoever is left until the last man dies.

Eight of January was the last day for Polytechnic open house. Some of us from 5n2 and 5n1 made our way to Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The atmosphere were exuberant .We went around looking at courses that suites our interests. We had fun walking around looking for courses.
Most of us have ours goals set in our minds and are now striving for it.Seems like most of are going to head to the same Polytechnic in the future.

  1. Well, as an adage goes, 'nothing new can enter if the old does not go', I'm sure that there are good reasons and consequences for the phasing out of NCC.

I'm glad you have a good time at the Open House sessions and know what you are aiming for.
