Recap

"Rafi, you are not going anywhere today!" declared my ferocious mum.

It is a boring Sunday as always. I do not get to go out and get my ass grounded on this particular day. I have to stay at home, do my homework and chores my mum gave me. I felt so low-spirited.

I feel like bird in its cage having little freedom. Well, that is fine with me since I had a awesome week at school! Lets recap what I did through out the weekdays.

Monday. It always starts with a boring morning, everyone who turns up for school will yawn all the way through out the day. The only lesson, which brightens up this day, was English lesson, which is taught by out proficient English teacher Ms Ang.She has her unique ways of teaching students English that made students improve rapidly. She will also share jokes, stories and her own personal experience that makes all students to listen very attentively during lesson time.

Tuesday. It is one of the days i would not want to miss in the weekdays. There is PE (physical education) on this day. All students changed up to their PE attire and were waiting for the arrival of our fierce PE teacher Mr. Sim; instead a female teacher came up to us. She said Mr. Sim is on medical leave, so you guys can play what ever you want. So well all played our favourite sport.

Wednesday. Today is mass cca(co-curricular activity) day. NCC (national cadets corp.) and st jab (saint johns ambulance brigade combined together) combined together to try out NCC’s rope obstacle course. There was vertical and horizontal rope climbing. I play a part by demonstrating on how to climb the rope vertically. After all, it was a eventful day.

Thursday. It was just a plain old normal day

Friday. The day for my class and me to relax. We have fewer and interesting periods. I had double PE on this day. We played rugby for through out the lesson. We had inter class challenges with the secondary three level. But sadly, they were thrashed by goal differences by us students. There was a lot of screaming and shouting through out the game. Which after we had our recess break followed by Values Education. We were decorating our class. I had little time to join and decorate the class, as I had to make my way for prayers. It was a great day indeed.

With this I will the close the chapter here.

Ncc and polytechnic visit

National Cadets Corp(Ncc) of First Toa Payoh Secondary School(ftpss) will close down in a year's time. It's a very saddening news to all Ncc members.
Look at how united Ncc was!:(

I have been serving Ncc as my Co curricular Activity(cca) since 2006 when i first joined the school as a student.During my first two years in Ncc,it was a hell of a training. We also had more Ncc officers back then. Corporal punishments were used too. The number of cadets started to decline as some could not take the pressure of corporal punishments.Hence Ncc head quarters banded corporal punishments in 2008.

We had more cadets recruited in 2009 but still they could not handle our normal trainings so the numbers fall again. The following year, the students joining ftpss declined so did the number of people of joining Ncc.Our performance also dropped. When 2010 was coming to end, rumors spread saying Ncc is being phased out.

2011 started,we had our assembly program held in the school hall. Our head of department of cca mentioned we are really being phased out.The rumors were true after all. All members of Ncc had a black face after hearing the news. All the efforts that has been put into Ncc has gone down the drain. I am really grateful to Ncc as I have matured a lot ever since i joined back then.
I have went to many camps and overseas trips. Ncc also have many achievements too.
Thanks to Ncc,I have also a got a high cca band which will be accounted in my national exams certificate which will help me in the future.Ncc just have to run the company with whoever is left until the last man dies.

Eight of January was the last day for Polytechnic open house. Some of us from 5n2 and 5n1 made our way to Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The atmosphere were exuberant .We went around looking at courses that suites our interests. We had fun walking around looking for courses.
Most of us have ours goals set in our minds and are now striving for it.Seems like most of are going to head to the same Polytechnic in the future.

Second day of school

It's been six days since 2010 ended and 2011 started. There are many fond memories I have left behind last year which I wished I could get back, but wishes ain't come true.2010 was also a turning point of my life and hopefully 2011 will be a better year.

Memories are something we all treasure. In 2010,I was in class 4n2'10.I made a lot of awesome friends during this year. I had lots of fun with this class in terms of academic and sports. We also went out monthly as a class to have more fun and bonding. Our class contains students of different vibes; we had bookworms to friendly gangsters. We as a class went through many ups and downs but we united as strong as ever. My class have complete national exams, most of them passed with flying colours. Some decided to pursue their studies in Secondary Five while the rest decided to continue their studies at Institute Of Technical Education.

2011 a new beginning.I am reunited with some of my old mates and i also have made new friends this year too. This year I am doing my 'O' Levels National Exams. So its time to cut slack and study more.I am spending lesser time out and staying more at home. The feeling of studying all day long is not great but it is just for a year, which after I can party all I want.Hopefully in 2012 I will be in a Polytechnic pursueing my diploma and so are my friends. :D
